My name is Femi. I serve as a Starting Point leader, and my wife and I lead a Married Couples’ Community Group.
For quite a while after we started attending North Point, I was reluctant to jump in and serve despite the many opportunities presented. I had served for many years in my previous church, and I was getting comfortable having no formal role in our new church.
With a lot of encouragement from my wife and our daughter, I finally joined a Men’s Community Group. Soon after, I began leading in Starting Point and more recently agreed to co-lead our married group. These connections have strengthened my bond within our church in more ways than I can count. I have gone from feeling like a visitor to welcoming others and helping them grow—all while continuing to grow as a follower of Jesus myself.
Serving at North Point is a special experience because of how our church supports and provides resources for volunteers. There is a constant sense of being part of something bigger than myself. Serving takes some commitment on my part, for sure, but I would not trade the opportunity to grow and help others thrive in such a loving environment. As a Jesus follower, this is where I’m supposed to be, doing what I’m called to do.
